On the afternoon of August 29, the World Health Expo and Academy-Enterprise Symposium was successfully held in Wuhan Half the Sky. Yang Wenbo, deputy director of the Industry Office of Hubei Provincial Health Commission and director of the Vascular Center, and Zhao Zhenyu, director of the Industry Department of Wuhan Municipal Health Commission, attended the meeting.

This conference was hosted by the Provincial Chu Business Federation and the Medical Branch of the Provincial Chu Business Federation, and was hosted by Wuhan Half the Sky. With the theme of “New Quality Leads Health, Hospitals and Enterprises Create the Future Together”, the conference aims to enhance the new quality productivity level of enterprises through face-to-face communication between hospitals and big health companies, help medical institutions develop high-quality development, and jointly create a bright future for the big health industry.
The delegates visited the Wuhan Half-Sky Product Exhibition Center and had an in-depth understanding of Wuhan Half-Sky’s minimally invasive technological achievements over the past 20 years. Qiu Xuewen, General Manager of Wuhan Half-Sky, gave a detailed introduction and vivid demonstration of Half-Sky’s overall solution for minimally invasive interventional treatment in gynecology and surgery, which was highly recognized by the guests present.
The meeting was chaired by Zhou Haizhen, executive deputy secretary-general of the Chu Merchants Association. Qiu Xuewen, general manager of Wuhan Half the Sky, delivered a speech and expressed his gratitude and welcome to the guests present. He pointed out that new productivity is the future engine of medical device production. Wuhan Half the Sky will further promote innovative practices such as “old for new” and “first set”, actively respond to the call for import substitution, and create more internationally competitive domestic medical devices. Wuhan Half the Sky is willing to work hand in hand with local hospitals and Chu business enterprises to jointly enhance the overall competitiveness of the medical device industry in Hubei.
Zhou Haizhen, executive deputy secretary-general of the Chu Business Federation, gave a systematic and comprehensive introduction to the World Health Expo at the meeting, and looked forward to meeting Chu business enterprises at the 2025 (7th) World Health Expo to create a bright future for the health industry.
In the speech exchange session between hospitals and enterprises, representatives from more than 30 hospitals and enterprises, including Taikang Tongji (Wuhan) Hospital, Asia Heart Hospital, Mayinglong Anorectal Hospital, Jiuzhoutong Group, United Imaging Group, and Winner Medical, conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on hot topics such as how medical devices can promote the improvement of medical standards, import substitution of medical devices, and medical device circulation policies. Everyone expressed their hope to rely on the valuable platform of the Chu Business Association to help each other and work hand in hand with Chu business enterprises to jointly enhance the core competitiveness of Hubei and even my country in the field of general health. Representatives from a number of institutes and enterprises conducted resource docking at the conference site and initially reached a cooperation intention.
Ke Xianjun, president of the Medical Branch of the Hubei Province Chushang Federation, deputy director and party secretary of Taikang Tongji (Wuhan) Hospital, expressed profound insights on the import substitution of domestic medical devices after listening to the speeches of the hospital and enterprises. He emphasized the importance of establishing a multi-channel communication mechanism between academies and enterprises, and put forward practical suggestions for enterprises to aspire high, strengthen market promotion, and proactively reach out to the grassroots. He hoped that both academies and enterprises can work together in both directions in the future to jointly promote the implementation of “import substitution”.
Wang Zuoyan, Secretary-General of the Wuhan Biomedical Industry Association, gave a brief introduction to the Wuhan Biomedical Industry Association. He put forward specific suggestions to achieve import substitution of domestic medical devices based on the needs of enterprises, and encouraged enterprises to strengthen research and development innovation to jointly promote the improvement of medical standards in Hubei.
In his concluding speech, Yang Wenbo, deputy director of the Industry Office of the Hubei Provincial Health and Health Commission and director of the Vascular Center, fully affirmed the outstanding contributions made by the Chu Business Association to Hubei’s great health industry, emphasized the important position of the health industry in modernization, and put forward targeted suggestions to both the institute and enterprises on the goal of developing new quality productivity in great health. Yang Wenbo fully affirmed the significance of this meeting and hoped that both the institute and the enterprise could further strengthen exchanges in the future and achieve mutually beneficial two-way choices.
