On January 4, Hubei’s “first meeting of the new year” in 2026 – the Hubei Science and Technology Innovation Conference was held in Wuhan. At the meeting, the “Decision of the Hubei Provincial People’s Government on Science and Technology Awards in Hubei Province in 2025” was read out, and 312 (persons) science and technology awards were awarded. Wuhan Half the Sky won the “2025 Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Award-Technology Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Innovation Award” for its outstanding innovation achievements in the field of general health.
On that day, 12 scientists walked on the red carpet and witnessed the vigorous pulse of Hubei’s scientific and technological innovation. Among them are many new academicians such as Yin Zhouping, a professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology who led a team to break through key technologies in electronic manufacturing equipment; Tang Huiming, a professor at China University of Geosciences who used science and technology to build a “Great Wall of Wisdom” for disaster prevention and reduction; and new generation young scientists such as Gao Zexia, a professor at Huazhong Agricultural University who cultivated the world’s first spineless fish.
The Science and Technology Small and Medium Enterprises Innovation Award aims to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have made remarkable achievements in technological innovation, achievement transformation and economic benefits. The selection focuses on the four core capabilities of the company: “innovative products, innovative teams, innovative platforms, and management innovation.” Only 15 companies in the province have won this honor.
Coinciding with the first working day of 2026, this provincial honor is even more significant – it is not only an authoritative recognition of Wuhan Half the Sky’s innovative strength in the field of general health for more than 20 years, but also a strong evidence that the company continues to lead the development of the industry. It marks the Hubei Provincial Government’s full recognition of Wuhan Half the Sky’s technological innovation and industrial contribution, and also presses the “accelerator button” for the company’s high-quality development in 2026.

This technology not only overcame the “7 mm blood vessel closure” problem that has plagued the industry for many years, but also won the first national Class III medical device registration certificate for this type of product in China, filling the domestic technical gap in this field and setting a solid benchmark for the “domestic substitution” of my country’s medical device industry.
