On September 24, the fifth (2022) China Medical Device Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded successfully in Xiaoshan Science and Technology City. Wuhan Half the Sky’s “Disposable Cyst Radiofrequency Ablation Electrode” project stood out in the competition and won the China Medical Device Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Award.

The “Disposable Cyst Radiofrequency Ablation Electrode” project was led by Fang Chao, the director of the R&D Department. It was successfully developed with the brainstorming of more than a hundred electronic engineers, software engineers, mechanical engineers, and technicians, and was eventually transformed into a scientific and technological medical product. This project uses minimally invasive intracystic intervention to treat benign cystic pelvic lesions, especially ovarian chocolate cysts, which are known as “sub-cancers.” It will help preserve the structure and function of the ovary and promote the advancement of gynecological medical technology.

Principle: Under the guidance of B-ultrasound, the disposable cyst radiofrequency ablation electrode can puncture the cyst, and the suction port at the tip of the product enters the interior of the cyst to absorb the accumulated fluid; due to the close cooperation between the spiral probe and the inner wall of the puncture tube, the suction port and discharge port of the product are divided into multiple sealed spatial curved surfaces. When this product is started, as the spiral probe rotates at high speed, vacuum gravity is formed using the Archimedean pressure principle. These sealed spaces are continuously formed at the suction end of the product to seal the liquid sucked into the puncture tube, and are continuously pushed along the axial direction of the spiral probe to the discharge end, and the liquid enclosed in each sealed space is continuously discharged. After the tissue removal is completed, the same principle can be used to reversely inject medicine into the diseased area, thus protecting the structure and function of the ovary and maintaining the physical and mental health of the patients in the long term. Clinically proven results are very satisfactory.

This award is not only a high recognition of the “Disposable Cyst Radiofrequency Ablation Electrode” project, but also a praise for Wuhan Half the Sky’s persistence in research and development. All Half the Sky people will not forget their original aspirations. Under the leadership of General Manager Qiu Xuewen, they will continue to innovate with the responsibility and belief of “Wuhan Half the Sky, benefiting all mankind”, and strive to become the pioneer and leader of minimally invasive medical brands.
