On June 25, 2026, BBT Medical General Manager Qiu Xuewen visited Wuhan National Bioindustry Base Medical Device Park for technical exchanges with Nami Surgical co-founder and COO Nico Fenu on miniaturized ultrasonic devices in robotic-assisted surgery.

Founded in 2021, Nami Surgical develops miniaturized ultrasonic instruments for robotic surgery. Its Nami S™ device places the transducer ahead of the wrist joint, achieving ≤10 mm diameter and ≤40 mm length at 55 kHz with validated 7 mm vessel sealing—addressing bulk and flexibility limits of conventional ultrasonic tools on wristed robotic systems.
BBT Medical pioneered domestic RF-ultrasonic technology and holds China’s first Class III registration for 7 mm vessel sealing. The company is advancing surgical robotics with energy-device integration as a key focus.


Both sides agreed that ultrasonic-robotics fusion is a major direction in minimally invasive surgery. Qiu noted strong alignment between Nami’s miniaturization approach and BBT’s intelligent surgery roadmap.
After the meeting, Nico Fenu and delegates including UK trade officials toured BBT headquarters—R&D, manufacturing, QC labs, and production—gaining insight into BBT’s end-to-end capabilities in minimally invasive energy devices.


The exchange established direct communication channels and a foundation for potential clinical and commercial collaboration on miniaturized ultrasonic technology in robotic surgery.
