On March 1, the National Medical Insurance Administration issued the “Notice on Effectively Implementing Centralized Pharmaceutical Procurement and Price Management in 2023”, which requires further improving the pharmaceutical price formation mechanism, promoting the coordinated development and governance of medical insurance, medical care, and medicine, and providing the people with high-quality, efficient, economically reasonable, convenient and accessible pharmaceutical services.
It is proposed that we should solidly promote centralized and bulk purchasing of medical consumables. In accordance with the principle of “one product, one policy”, a new batch of state-organized centralized procurement of high-value medical consumables will be launched. We will implement the results of the centralized procurement of spinal consumables well, refer to the special adjustment of artificial joint replacement surgery prices, give priority to adjusting the surgical prices related to the centralized procurement of spinal consumables, and start the nationwide unified continuation of the centralized procurement of artificial joints in a timely manner. Focus on key products in cardiology and orthopedics, guide more provinces to promote the centralized purchase of general surgical consumables such as staplers and ultrasonic scalpels, and continue to explore the centralized purchase of in vitro diagnostic reagents. Each province will carry out at least one batch of provincial-level centralized purchase of consumables.
